Safeguarding

St Margaret's Church takes its responsibilities for safeguarding very seriously.

  • All members of the Ministry team and PCC have undertaken safeguarding training.

  • All members of the Ministry team and PCC are DBS checked

  • All members of the church who support our regular activities are DBS checked

  • St Margaret's follows the Diocese of Peterborough's guidelines for safeguarding

The Church of England’s safeguarding policy statement, Promoting a Safer Church, says:

“All Church bodies should ensure that they have a ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ action plan in place that sets out, in line with national and local priorities, how the policy is being put into action and is reviewed regularly.”

To that end the PCC have completed the Promoting a Safer Church Action Plan - Level 3 and all our policies are reviewed annually.

St Margaret's Church follows the Church of England guidance in its Parish Safeguarding Handbook, a copy of which can be accessed here.

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer is Ray Smith.
